Tomorrow is the first of the 9 o’clock starts this year, so set your alarms! We’ll head out to Worcester using Route 135. Lots of interest from relatively new Associates at club night on Wednesday, so any Observers considering turning out please consider a little harder.
For Associates who haven’t been on a weekend run before, this is how it works:
Turn up at the bike museum around 8:45. No need to pre-book or anything, so you’re free to decide on the day based on weather, mood, recovery time from Friday night etc. etc. Bring your log book with you and enough fuel for at least 60 miles.
We will make you welcome and find you an Observer, who will run your day from then on. He/she will accompany you to Worcester, assessing your ride, maybe stopping en route for an interim chat and maybe giving you a demonstration ride. At Worcester we’ll all meet up again, your Observer will spend some time with you on a de-brief (which will go a whole lot better if you buy him a cuppa first!) and fill in your run sheet.
We will then normally ride back towards Birmingham as a group, definitely not using the M5. You can tell you nearest and dearest you’ll be hoe by about 1pm, although they will learn in time to take that with a pinch of salt.
See you tomorrow, Bob
